Finding good trails in the Rotterdam area can be challenging. However, thanks to Wandelboswachter Ellen we discoverd this hidden gem right next to the Netherlands’ biggest city, Rotterdam.
After we park our car we cross a small bridge which directly leads to a watchtower overviewing the skyline of Rotterdam. It’s amazing to see the city from this point. We follow the trails (there’s only one, so you can’t miss it) and bump into some Scottisch Highland cows roaming around freely. We pass a cute playground and then see the Brienenoord bridge appear out of nowhere. We’d never thought that under this bridge, which we cross so often, is this full oasis of nature. A super fun hike if you live close by.
